UH5Q-E display for meeting rooms and signage
1 unit doesn't match this setup guidechecked just now
Configuring happens in a project's Deploy page
Each device is provisioned, installed, configured in this setup order and commissioned there, ticked off with who and when. This page is the standard it follows.
No project is configuring it now. Every project
On the units running it
A practice run. Order matters for the steps marked Critical; a later step says which one comes first, and why. Ticks stay on this browser. The real run is ticked device by device in a project's Deploy page.
0 of 13Before you startA wired data outlet behind the display on the Displays and signage VLAN (31), with a DHCP reservationAn LG Business Cloud (ConnectedCare) account for the siteThe site's NTP servers handed out by DHCP
Aigna wires every UH5Q-E to the network, keeps it reachable in standby (Network Ready and Wake On LAN), sets its clock from NTP, turns its own energy saving and no-signal power off features off, and lets the room system and a daily schedule decide when it is on. It is locked, monitored over SNMP and managed in LG Business Cloud.
Time and schedule[General] > [Time & Date] and [Ez Setting] > [On/Off Scheduler]
- SetSet Automatically[General] › [Time & Date] › [Set Automatically]On, with the site's NTP servers in [NTP Server Setting]Schedules, logs and the cloud's view only line up when the clock is right.source
- SetTime Zone[General] › [Time & Date] › [Time Zone]The site's time zoneThe schedule runs in local time.source
- VerifyDaylight Saving Time[General] › [Time & Date] › [Daylight Saving Time]Follows the time zoneA schedule an hour out twice a year is the most common timer complaint.source
- SetOn/Off Time Setting[Ez Setting] › [On/Off Scheduler] › [On/Off Time Setting]Mon to Fri on at the office's opening time; every day off at closing time plus one hourSignage is on when people arrive; the off time is a backstop if the room system misses a power off, which is where the energy saving comes from.source
- SetHoliday Setting[Ez Setting] › [On/Off Scheduler] › [Holiday Setting]The country's public holidaysThe display stays off on days the office is closed.source
Power and standby[General] > [Power]
- SetPM Mode[General] › [Power] › [PM Mode]Network ReadyDefault: Power OffIn the default Power Off mode the display drops off the network when off, so the room system and LG Business Cloud cannot turn it on or see it.source
- SetWake On LAN (Networked Standby Mode)[General] › [Power] › [Wake On LAN (Networked Standby Mode)]Wired On, Wireless OffLets the network wake the display; Wi-Fi is not used.source
- SetPower On Status[General] › [Power] › [Power On Status]LST (Last Status)After a power cut the display returns to what it was doing, so signage comes back on and an empty room stays off.source
- SetNo Signal Power Off (15 Min)[General] › [Power] › [No Signal Power Off (15 Min)]OffWhen the video bar sleeps the display would switch itself off after 15 minutes and may not wake for the next meeting, which people report as no picture.source
- SetNo IR Power Off (4 hour)[General] › [Power] › [No IR Power Off (4 hour)]OffNobody uses the remote, so after four hours a working display would turn itself off mid-afternoon.source
- SetDPM (Standby Mode)[General] › [Power] › [DPM (Standby Mode)]OffStandby on no signal is the room system's job; DPM cannot be woken from HDMI 3 or DP at all.source
- DefaultPower On Delay[General] › [Power] › [Power On Delay]Not usedOnly needed to stagger a video wall's start.source
Energy saving[Display] > [Advanced Setting] > [Energy Saving]
- SetBrightness Control[Display] › [Advanced Setting] › [Energy Saving] › [Brightness Control]OffDimming the backlight makes content and the far end look dull, and an Auto setting changes brightness under the camera. Aigna saves far more energy by turning the display off when the space is empty.source
- SetSmart Energy Saving[Display] › [Advanced Setting] › [Energy Saving] › [Smart Energy Saving]OffIt changes brightness with the content, which is distracting on slides and video calls.source
- DefaultBrightness Scheduling[Display] › [Advanced Setting] › [Energy Saving] › [Brightness Scheduling]Not usedThe On/Off schedule does the job.source
Inputs and CEC[Ez Setting] > [Fail Over] and [General] > [Advanced Setting]
- SetAuto Switching[Ez Setting] › [Fail Over] › [Auto Switching]Meeting rooms on with Input Priority Manual, HDMI 1 first, Action Mode Return; signage offIn a meeting room the display returns to the video bar; signage must never leave its player's input.source
- SetSIMPLINK Setup[General] › [Advanced Setting] › [SIMPLINK Setup]On in video bar rooms; off for signage and rooms with a control systemThe video bar wakes the display and selects its input over CEC; elsewhere CEC from a player or laptop would switch the display unexpectedly.source
- VerifyOffice Meeting Mode[Ez Setting] › [Office Meeting Mode]OffIts Auto Power Off turns both automatic power offs back on.source
Network and control[General] > [Network] and [General]
- VerifyWired connection[General] › [Network]DHCP, the address fixed by a reservationThe network team can change the address centrally without a site visit.source
- SetSet ID[General] › [Set ID]1RS-232C and network control commands address the display by its ID.source
- SetSNMP[General] › [Network] › [SNMP]On, with the site's monitoring community from the vaultMonitoring reads the display's status and raises an alert when it stops answering.source
- SetPort Control[General] › [Network] › [Port Control]Block every port the space does not useFewer open services on a device in a public room.source
- SetCrestron[General] › [Advanced Setting] › [Crestron]Only in rooms with a Crestron control system: the processor's address and the space's IP-IDDefault: Port 41794Lets the space's control system drive the display over the network.source

What the vendor's documents don't say (5)
- The guide states only a few defaults (PM Mode Power Off, Crestron port 41794); the rest are written as the value Aigna wants.
- The guide has no on-set menu to rename the display; the name is set in Control Manager or ConnectedCare.
- No LG document read states the TCP port for network control; third-party drivers use 9761.
- SNMP is listed as depending on model, and the guide says SNMP 2.0; confirm on a unit.
- USB firmware update is not described in the guide.
Provision is the first step of Deploy: before or as each display arrives, every system gets its record, so the device is known the moment it is plugged in. It is ticked in the project's Deploy page; this is what each record needs.
