Reserve addresses by MAC before delivery. Nothing new: the guide was right.
Steps followed
- Send the MAC addresses to the network team before the units ship (their queue is five working days).
- Ask for address reservations and forward and reverse DNS records, named with each hostname.
- Confirm the switch ports are on the AV VLAN with enough power over Ethernet.
- Check each reservation resolves before install day.
