Vendor access

This part is for Aigna staff

Vendors see their own installation and the device reference they need to build it: device types, setup guides and models. Everything else stays with Aigna.

Setup order

Optional: tick as you go, or let the checks do it
  1. 1Mount the switch under the desk or on the wall and connect the out-of-band management port to the management VLAN.0/1
  2. 2Log in over HTTPS (no password is required on first login) and set the admin password.0/1
  3. 3Set the SNTP server for the switch's clock.0/1
  4. 4Apply the Network Profile that matches the space's AV-over-IP protocol, or leave Default if the space has none.0/1
  5. 5Assign each port's untagged/tagged/excluded status for that Network Profile and check its IGMP querier is enabled.0/1
  6. 6Set the PoE power allocation for the space's endpoints within the 110 W budget.0/1
  7. 7Leave automatic firmware checks off; update manually once the Lab has passed a release.0/1
  8. 8Run the space's verification.0/1

Every setting

8 in the setup guide, as patterns

Values marked Per unit are patterns here. Each unit's build sheet has them worked out: dub-303-sw01.

Management access2
  • Admin passwordPer unitSet to From the password vault, per siteWorked out on the build sheet
    Why

No password is required on first login; Aigna sets one immediately, 8 to 64 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number.

  • Management access protocolCheck it is HTTPS
    Why

The switch defaults to HTTPS for its web interface, which Aigna keeps rather than allowing plain HTTP.

Date and time1
  • SNTP serverConfigure > Date and time settingsSet to ntp1.aigna.example
    Why

Uses Aigna's time server instead of manual entry, so the switch's logs line up with everything else on the site.

Network Profiles (AV UI)3
  • Network ProfilePer unitConfigure > Network ProfilesSet to The Network Profile for the space's AV protocol (e.g. Dante, NDI or Kramer AV), Default if the space has noneWorked out on the build sheet
    Why

Each preconfigured Network Profile carries its own VLAN separation and querier settings for that protocol; picking the wrong one can cut a device off from its controller.

  • Port assignment (untagged/tagged/excluded)Per unitConfigure > Network Profiles > [Network Profile] > portsSet to AV endpoints untagged on the Network Profile's VLAN; the uplink taggedWorked out on the build sheet
    Why

Matches how the space's AV-over-IP protocol expects its VLAN to reach each device.

  • Querier Election ParticipateConfigure > Network Profiles > [Network Profile] > QuerierCheck it is On
    Why

Already on by default for the Default Network Profile; a multicast AV stream needs a querier on its VLAN to keep flowing to every receiver.

Power over Ethernet1
  • PoE port power allocationPer unitConfigure > Power over EthernetSet to Per the connected device's power class, within the 110 W total budgetWorked out on the build sheet
    Why

The 8 PoE+ ports share one 110 W budget; setting each port's allocation stops one device starving another when the space is full.

Updates1
  • Firmware updateManage and MonitorSet to Manual, downloaded from netgear.com/support/download and applied after the Lab passes it
    Why

No automatic-update toggle is documented for this series; Aigna checks and applies a release by hand regardless.
