Signage

Signage is a 24/7 display and a managed player behind it, at standing eye height, on the network, on a schedule, showing content from one managed platform.

  • Mount landscape signage with the centre of the screen about 1,500 mm above the floor, where people stand or queue, facing the way they walk. That is standing eye height, so people read it without looking up; it is placed where they pause, not where they hurry past.
  • In corridors and lobbies, keep the display and mount within 100 mm of the wall (see the displays standard).A screen sticking out at head height is not found with a cane.
  • Do not place a 500 nit display facing a window or in direct sun; where it must go there, raise an exception for a high brightness model. The house displays wash out in daylight, and a signage screen nobody can read is wasted.
  • Mount a display in portrait only if its manufacturer's manual allows portrait use, and turn it so the ports are where the manual says. Some displays overheat or void their warranty in portrait, or in the wrong direction.
